Using the Microscope
Now that you know the parts of the microscope, and how to care for it, you can now learn how to use it.

- Plug in your microscope.
- Make sure that the low power lenses are in place first.
- Turn the coarse adjustment knob until the stage is as low as possible.
- Look through the eyepiece and make sure that the stage is as bright as possible. If not, adjust the diaphragm.
- Place your slide on the stage. Make sure that the middle of the specimen is on top of the hole on the stage. Then use your stage clips to keep the slide in place.
- Look through the eyepiece.
- Turn the coarse adjustment knob to focus the image.
- Turn the fine adjustment knob to sharpen the image.
- Rotate to medium and high power lens if needed. Remember not to use the coarse adjustment knob.
